NEW FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE PATIENTS
Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to Roots and a natural way of improving your health and maintaining wellness.  We have helped many women with their fertility, weight, mood, fatigue, digestion and hair issues; and we look forward to helping you too!  Please review the information below and let us know if you have any additional questions or concerns so that you feel confident and ready to schedule your first visit with us.

How long is my first Functional Medicine appointment?

60 minutes.  This time affords our Practitioners the opportunity to get to know you, review your health history and past labs (if applicable), discuss specific concerns, establish health goals, and outline testing options.  Please note, New Functional Medicine Intake Forms will be sent electronically for completion prior to your appointment.

Does my visit include all testing?

No.  Your first Functional Medicine appointment includes a 30-minute test results consultation and urinalysis.  All other testing is additional.  Why?  Because we do not take a "one - size - fits - all" approach.  Testing can vary greatly from patient to patient based on their specific symptoms and health goals.  And ultimately, testing is up to you.  Our Practitioners will explain your testing options in detail so you can feel empowered to make the right testing decisions for you.

How long does it take to get my test results and how will I receive them?

It takes approximately two weeks from the time you send in your test kit to receive results from our labs.  We'll schedule a 30-minute Functional Medicine Follow-up to review the results with you.  Copies of your results, along with your personalized Nutrition & Supplement Protocol, will be provided for your reference and records.  Please note, this half-hour follow-up appointment is included in your initial appointment fee.  Supplements are additional.

Do you accept private insurance or Medicaid/Forward Health?

No.  We do not sign contracts with any private insurance companies.  This helps us keep our patients' costs down and allows us to provide a full spectrum of wellness care options to any patient seeking help rather than being restricted by an insurance company's protocols.  Also, we are not accepting Medicaid/Forward Health at this time.

Will my private insurance cover your services?

Maybe. There are a vast number of insurance providers, healthcare policies, and levels of coverage.  If you have concerns regarding reimbursement from your insurance provider for our services, we suggest that you contact your insurance provider for details prior to scheduling an appointment with us.
